Flintshire County Council, Housing Services are proud to announce the sixth annual Involvement Awards. 2016 sees a partnership with FLVC (Flintshire Local Voluntary Council), Wrexham & Flintshire OWL, and Communities First come together to hold a joint event. This event builds on previous events and is our opportunity to celebrate, showcase and thank all the volunteers, organisations and business who undertake, support and promote the wonderful work volunteering impacts on communities and to those other who go that extra mile
So get those nominations forms completed and keep your fingers crossed.
When submitting your entries please try to give as much relevant and concise information as possible. This will enable the judging panel to fully understand your nomination, and to assess it fairly against other nominations. If your nomination is shortlisted you will be invited to the awards ceremony.

Have you developed a project that has had an impact on the environment? Have you been working with an environmental group or organisation that has made a difference to their community Send in a nomination form telling us how, don’t forget the pictures…
Employer/Employee volunteering award
Are you a business that promotes employee volunteering, how do you support your staff to do so, how do you support the local community? Do you have staff who go that little bit further? or has been working within your community that has gone that extra mile? Are you a local group who knows a business that has supported your group or community in a way you think they deserve to be recognised for? Let us know, and tell us the difference it has made. (There are 2 categories in this award – Employer and Employee)
Community Learning & Development Project – Have you helped the community access training and education, do you want to nominate an agency that hold community learning sessions? Do you run an after school or computer club? Most importantly, tell us how the Learning or training opportunity has made a difference.
Involving the Community in ‘Making a Difference’ Award – How does your organisation or community group involve the wider community in the work you do? How are you being inclusive? Show us how you use a variety of methods for involving local residents? Tell us why your group should win an award.
Community Champion – Do you know an individual who ‘goes that extra mile in their community or voluntary group/project? Have they overcome diversity or personal problems to become a ‘shining light’ in the work that they are involved in? Nominate them in this category

Remember… The judges will be looking for the ‘difference’ that an individual, group, organization or project has made. The judges do not want to read just about a good idea – they want to see how things have worked in practice.
All nominations must be on the awards nomination form, and up to four sides of A4 of additional evidence can be provided. You can also include photographs (these must be clearly marked with contact details in order to be returned) if you include newsletters, flyers or brochures as part of your additional evidence. Again please mark them clearly.
ALL NOMINATION FORMS MUST BE RETURNED NO LATER THAN – MONDAY 25th JANUARY 2016
If you submit photographs that you need to be returned, please make sure you mark the back clearly with name and address so they can be returned.
Nominees who have been shortlisted will be contacted with an invitation to attend the awards event.
All WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT THE AWARDS CEREMONY ON WEDNESDAY THE 10TH FEBRUARY AND PUBLISISED THROUGH THE LOCAL MEDIA INCLUDING ON RADIO DEESIDE.
