Listen to the broadcast from 12pm untiil 3pm live on Radio Deeside or online at: http://mixlr.com/dragontaleproductions/
The month of September is recognised nationally as Recovery month. During this time hundreds of organisations responsible for providing support services to vulnerable people, substance misusers and people in recovery from drug/alcohol misuse get together to promote their activities so that more people who need help can access the services they need, but also celebrate the people who have made significant steps in their journey to sobriety and prolonged Recovery from addiction.
This year, the event will be attended by multiple organisations including ARCH, CAIS, Cyfle Cymru, AVOW and DragonTale Productions – to name a few. Events like these are fantastic networking opportunities for organisations in this sector, as increased collaboration between services can lead to greater Recovery Capital through the sharing of these resources.
The end beneficiaries of these events are the service users. As is customary, the event will act as an award ceremony for some of the clients who have successfully completed milestones in their Recovery journey. For those who have recently completed the outward bound course provided by ARCH Cymru for example, they will be presented with certificates and recognition for the progress they have made.
Alongside the graduation ceremony, a live radio broadcast will take place during the proceedings, provided by DragonTale Productions. DragonTale is a Big Lottery Funded radio production company whose main focus is to promote and train people in Recovery in radio production. The aim of this is to grow these individuals by increasing their confidence and skill-set. The DragonTale Recovery Ambassadors will be present at the event, demonstrating their skills and experience by operating both the technical and creative demands of the live outside-broadcast, which will be channeled through local radio station – Radio Deeside.
This event is a chance to celebrate people in Recovery, who have made significant progress in bettering themselves and their communities. We will take this opportunity to recognise their achievements and promote their success to others still struck by the chaos of addiction, to prove that there is help and support available from a multitude of organisations and support services.
