Digital Volunteers – could your organisation benefit from volunteers available now?
The Wales Co-operative Centre in partnership with WCVA delivers a Welsh Government project, Digital Communities Wales, that provides support to organisations that are working with digitally excluded groups, particularly older people, people with disabilities, unemployed people, social housing tenants and families in poverty.
Digital Communities Wales is here to help your organisation. With 21 per cent of adults in Wales still not online many are missing out on opportunities to save money, look for work, find information, keep in touch with family, learn new skills and access important services. They may already be coping with issues such as isolation, poverty or unemployment – issues which are made worse by not being online.
Digital Communities Wales has now recruited over 100 digital volunteers across Wales that are keen to work with organisations that make a difference in their communities. Our aim is to recruit and place 500 volunteers this year. We are looking for organisations to work with the digital volunteers that are being recruited through the campaign.
- Could your organisation benefit from having a digital volunteer?
- Could a digital volunteer support the individuals your organisation works with to help them start using digital technology?
- Could a digital volunteer enhance your organisations on-line engagement?
Many organisations are already benefitting from the contribution being made by Digital Volunteers, if you would like to find out more about the opportunities for you and the people you support, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or send a tweet to @DC_Wales with the hashtag #digivolunteerwales.
