Call for feedback – Budget Advisory Group on Equality, deadline June 2015
Message from Helen Wilkinson, Senior Policy Officer, European Cohesion Policy & Anti Poverty
The Welsh Government’s Budget Advisory Group on Equality met recently. An article about this recent meeting is available on our website here. I sit on this group for WCVA (along with other third sector stakeholders involved). At this meeting, WG colleagues from Housing led a workshop with a view to gaining input from the group on current challenges in the area of housing and inequality. It was agreed that stakeholders in the group would cascade the information provided at the workshop through their networks and seek further feedback with a view to communicating this at the next BAGE meeting on 1 July.
I am attaching the Housing pre-reading info provided to BAGE stakeholders involved: BAGE Pre-reading

In addition, after the meeting, I asked housing colleagues if they had specific areas they wished the feedback to focus on. They came back suggesting the following questions to help focus feedback:
- What more could local (i) local authorities and (ii) housing associations do in the field of housing to promote quality for the groups with protected characteristics (all of the groups or specific ones)
- How would this help?
- What positive outcomes could result?
For clarity – this information is being circulated to the following key WCVA networks:
- relevant TSPC network representatives (housing, and network reps for the protected characteristics);
- members of the Equalities and Human Rights Coalition;
- members of the Dept for Communities and Tackling Poverty Third Sector Ministerial Planning group;
If you have specific views and feedback based on your network or organisational interest please email me direct, firstname.lastname@example.org and let me have these no later than Friday 26 June.
I will ensure that any detailed comments or contributions from stakeholders are shared and that there is transparency on the source to facilitate further contact with the sector and officials where appropriate but if you want your feedback or comments to remain anonymous then just let me know.
