A step closer for the Sub Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Centre at Glan Clwyd Hospital
Plans to develop a Sub Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Centre at Glan Clwyd Hospital have taken a step closer this week.
An Outline Business Case (OBC) for the state of the art centre, which will care for very sick and premature babies in North Wales, will be presented to Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board on 8 December 2015.
Chairman of the Board, Peter Higson said: “The development of the Outline Business Case has taken us another step closer to an excellent service for the whole of North Wales.
“The Health Board has received £1.4million funding from Welsh Government to develop these plans and I’m certain that the work being done will provide North Wales with a Centre to be proud of.”
Once approved by the Board, it is anticipated that the Outline Business Case will be submitted to Welsh Government for approval.
The Health Board must then complete and submit their Full Business Case to Welsh Government for approval by July 2016 prior to the building work commencing on site.
It is anticipated that the North Wales Sub Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Centre will be operational by March 2018.
