Role: Family Mentor
Hours: Part-time – Saturday, 8-4pm and Sunday 12-8pm (14 hours per week)
Salary: £6806.80 per annum (£9.35 per hour)
Location: Chester city centre
Contract: This position is funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund until July 2018.

Save the Family have an exciting opportunity for a Family Mentor to join our team in Chester. This is an extremely rewarding role, working with vulnerable families to provide guidance & practical skills in order for families to achieve identified outcomes & reach their potential.
This is a hands on role, where you will make a difference.
• A good standard of education (GCSE English and Maths or equivalent)
• Experience of working within a mentoring environment, ideally in a families setting
• Experience dealing with ‘at risk’ adults and children on a one to one basis
• Experience of applying safeguarding procedures and practices
• Good organisational skills
• Ability to work as part of a team or as a lone worker
• Full driving licence.
• Safeguarding training
• Mentoring training
• Working knowledge of Health and Safety Practice
• Experience of planning and structuring mentoring activities using own initiative
• Experience working in a role within a project that is outcome driven
• Business use on insurance or willing to purchase if appointed
• Willing to use own vehicle for business purposes.

Save the Family is a Charity based in Cheshire. We provide a safe community environment combined with tailored mentoring to homeless and vulnerable families. The help offered includes access to training, employment support and issue led support enabling families to get back on their feet and move forward with confidence.
